PIR Infrared Motion Sensor – HC-SR501

  • 1 — HC-SR501 PIR Infrared Motion Sensor

  • Supply Voltage Range: 5 to 20 V
    • Has on-board 7133 voltage regulator
    • We recommend using supply voltages between 5 and 12 volts to keep from dissipating a lot of heat at the regulator
  • Output signal voltage: 3.3V which is high enough to be read as a high signal on most 5V devices such as Arduinos
  • Output signal is active high, so when movement is detected it outputs a high signal
  • Two trimpots (the orange adjustment potentiometers on the side of this module) allow you to adjust the sensitivity and output hold delay (how long it will hold the output high after being triggered). Refer to the product photos above for labels showing which trimpot is which. Turn the sensitivity trimpot clockwise for higher motion sensitivity. Turn the hold delay trimpot clockwise for a longer hold delay).
  • Sensing Range: ~120 degrees, within 7 meters
  • Minimum Operating Temperature: -15°C
  • Maximum Operating Temperature: 70°C
  • Dimensions: 32.3mm (1.27in) length, 24.7mm (0.97in) width, 25mm (0.98in) height
  • Diameter of Fresnel Lens Base: 23mm (0.91in)
  • Weight: 6g (0.21oz)
